Faith, Hope and Love…

December 31, 2008

Heya my peeeeeeeeeeeps!!!

I know most of you must be dressing up for the event of the year – saying good-bye to the year 2008!!! So while you dress up for that much awaited do, or get ready for mass, or hit out the roads with a bunch of friends, or sadly, go to work or sit out in front of the TV, I’ll try to liven up the atmo by putting in my usual 2-bit of nonsense…

Well, well, well… Or rather whew, whew, whew!!! What a roller-coaster of a year this has been… And if you think like any sad columnist I’m going to list out the major events of this year, you are sadly mistaken… You can refer to all that in the newspapers, which in their usual pompous sense of occasion, bring out the ‘best-of’ and ‘worst-of’ and ‘happening’ and ‘not-happening’ lists of the year gone by… All I know is that it was a ‘Whew’ year…

The events in the past few months have marred the spirit of this Christmas & New Year… Terror Attacks in Bombay (once again!!!), economic depression looming in front of us, lay-offs happening all around, smelly Iraqi shoes being thrown at Bush (now that’s something cheerful 😀 😀 😀 )… we can go on and on and on… And everywhere I read, it is the same old story… Parties being cancelled, celebrities keeping it low, people planning to spend time at home and with loved ones, rather than partying the night away… Why so Serious, buddy??? Why such despair???

In times like these, we need Faith, we need Hope, we need Love… At least one thing good came out of these terrible events… Everyone came to know the worth of their loved ones… I could write post after post on every event that has occurred, but well, if somebody’s done that, then ‘that’ is no more a virgin 😉 …

But we need times like these to look up to God, to wake up from our deep slumber, to recognize the mighty power that governs all our thoughts, words, actions and happenings… Because without His Will, even the hair of your head will not go gray (look at my hair-shiny as black coal 😉 )… And this is what He tells us to do… Have Faith, Give Hope and Spread His Love… For without His Hope, we are nothing… Hope in Him is what brings us back from the brink of defeat… Hope in Him is what makes our failures a success… Hope in Him is what transforms us into His children… Hope in Him is what keeps us alive…

Faith… A simple five-letter word… But maybe the toughest one to implement… No, Love isn’t the toughest emotion out there… We are too free and giving with it… But Faith, now that’s something… When everything goes wrong, when all your plans fail, when all that you do turns to dust, when there’s no where to go, that is when you need Faith… Faith that God will make it alright… Faith that everything’s gonna be OK… Faith that HE cares for us, and will never abandon us… Faith that He loves us… It’s tough, it’s sometimes maybe impossible, but all you need is to look up to Him and say, ” I don’t know how I’m gonna do this, or how I’m gonna get out of this, but I’ve Faith in you, that you will put all things right… I leave it to you”… And do just that… Leave it to Him… He loves repairing things… After all he’s made us in His likeness, and there’s a child in Him too, who loves repairing things that are gone bad 😉 If ever you need a demonstration of Faith, take a little child out for a walk with you… It’ll hold your hand and walk along – unperturbed, without questioning, ever trusting you, no matter where, how or why you are leading him/her… That’s the Faith the Almighty seeks from you…

Our Faith leads us to Hope in Him… And without that Hope, we are lifeless… He doesn’t reprimand us if we go to Him in our time of need… In fact, He is more than ready to help 🙂 … All He desires is that once you have Hoped in Him, then do not worry… Sit back, relax, and see how He works miracles in your life… Tough again, because as humans we are prone to fingering and poking and nudging and hinting and fidgeting… We can’t just stand still and wait… Hope gives you that patience… Hope makes you look at everything in a new light – His light… And the Hope in Him leads you on to His Love…

Love- aha, here we come… That muuuuaaaahhh feeling, that word which makes the world go around till it’s dizzy, that much sought-after yet not-found state… There is so much said about Love, that whatever I’ll say will be a cliche… So I’ll stick to quoting St.Paul on this… Because by far, this is the best definition of Love that I’ve found… It has to be… It comes from The Most High…

1 Corinthians 13:4-13

Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up; and its faith, hope and patience never fail.

Love is eternal. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with.

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known.

Meanwhile these three remain: faith, hope, and love; and the greatest of these is love.

That’s all for tonight folks… Wish you a very Happy and Prosperous New Year and may all that you have lost be restored to you, and may The Lord bless you with so much more that you won’t be able to hold them all… For this is what He says

Look at ME and get Hope, and pass this Hope to all you meet. I AM RENEWING ALL MY PROMISES AND I AM GIVING BACK ALL THAT YOU’VE LOST. The old will come back; renewed, better, stronger, & everlasting. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO MY CREATION

THIS IS OFFICIALLY THE YEAR OF THE LORD’S RESTORATION – HE IS RESTORING OUR LOST GLORY AND RENEWING ALL HIS PROMISES!!!

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!! LOVE YOU…
